Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
Migration policy remains the most important area of influence on the demographic situation in Russia. Efficient management of external and internal migrant flows helps overcome staff shortage in a number of regions, stop the depopulation process in certain Russian territories, reduce conflicts between migrants and host communities, and strengthen national security. Russia, with its diverse demographic and economic development of regions, is highly migrant-intensive for external migration and remains attractive for compatriots abroad. But the problem of using the migration potential both in Russia and in many other countries is increasingly focused on the integration capacity of regions and locations. Identity policy plays an important role in the adaptation and integration of external migrants. The article analyzes the author’s life sphere approach to the adaptation and integration of migrants for a comprehensive review of application of the identity policy. The latter can penetrate into all spheres of migrants’ life, realizing their needs. At the same time, the identity policy is also aimed at the host community, which in each of the life spheres shows its interests. First, in the territorial sphere, migrants adapt to natural and climatic features, ways of communication, determining their “new” and “old” identity with respect to the environment. Second, in the natural anthropologic sphere, where the problems of housing, environment and health are solved, the identity of migrants and long-term residents is also determined and corrected. Third, in the cultural sphere, identification takes into account the confessional, moral, artistic, cultural and other terminal values of residents, realizes their needs in education. Fourth, the agent-professional sphere, which is both a source of income and a channel for self-realization of professionals, plays an important role in the identification of migrants and their integration with the host community. The identification method in migration policy is able to improve the integration processes in these life spheres
