Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
The issue of healthy eating is of scientific and practical interest, particularly under the geo-climatic constraints specific to Russia and the current socio-economic threats that give rise to food security problems. This article analyzes the current food culture of residents in one of the regions of European Russia, namely the Vologda Region. Based on data from a sociological survey conducted over several years, it examines residents' attitudes toward food and identifies related everyday practices. The aim of this study is to investigate the cultural attitudes and practices of healthy eating among the population of the Vologda Region and to determine the trends and prospects for this area development in contemporary Russian society. The findings reveal that a significant portion of the region's residents have low awareness of what constitutes a rational eating schedule and daily diet. This knowledge deficit is reflected in citizens' practical actions. Many respondents admit to taking no action to eat properly. Given that these are self-assessments, it is necessary to note the pronounced reflexivity, as it provides a foundation for successfully implementing measures to improve the situation. The scientific novelty of this research lies in its comprehensive analysis of attitudes and actual actions that coalesce into everyday practices. A limitation of the study is that the data are based on respondents' self-reports, which may introduce subjective bias. Furthermore, the survey covers only one region, limiting the generalizability of the findings to larger areas. Future research will focus on developing recommendations for creating effective educational programs and improving the food culture in the region
