Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
At present, studies on the quality of life, its definition and comparative assessment are becoming increasingly important. The problem of assessing the quality of life arises when solving a wide range of research and management objectives such as comparing territories and population groups, determining the criteria for effectiveness of the socio-economic policy, etc. The quality of life is a rather complex category that includes a large number of aspects of people’s living conditions and their perception of these conditions. The article presents the results of assessing the quality of life of the Russian population in regions based on the author’s methodology grounded and developed at the previous stages of the research. The assessment of the quality of life in Russian regions is based on data from 80 Russia’s constituent entities (in 2015 and 2016 – 82 subjects, including the Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol) during 2010–2016. The informational framework of the research consists of materials of the Federal State Statistics Service and the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing. The research results demonstrate generally positive trends in the development of the quality of life in Russia during the study period. At the same time, according to calculations, these processes took place against the background of continuous growth of regional differentiation. The obtained estimates reveal the trend towards systematic separation of a small group of regions with a high quality of life from a group of regions with a low quality of life, gradually absorbing into the regions once characterized by an average quality of life
