The relevance of the study is due to the resolution of the contradiction between the need to increase human potential of the EAEU member states in order to achieve integration tasks in the conditions of an economic recession after a pandemic, numerous political and other critical challenges and the real state of human potential of the member states, characterized by insufficiently high values. The purpose of the work is to identify the problems of human potential formation of the EAEU countries and to determine the mechanisms for its improvement. The information base of the article is the data of the national statistical committees of the EAEU countries, as well as statistical data on the UN Human Development Index and the World Bank Human Capital Index, statistical data of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The methodological basis consists of general scientific research methods – comparative and statistical analysis. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the application of complex analysis in identifying the problems of human potential of sustainable development of the EAEU countries. We consider human potential within the framework of two concepts: human development and human capital. Based on a comparative analysis of statistical data for 2015–2019, the paper notes the key problem points in human potential development of the EAEU countries. The practical significance of the study is determined by the mechanisms, proposed in the work to increase human potential of the EAEU member states: development of measures to optimize social policy at the level of the Union as a whole and each member country; creation of a unified concept for improving the quality of education and medical care; development of a system of guarantees of social security for old age, support for motherhood and childhood; increase in investments in the social sphere, in particular in education and healthcare
