Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
Innovative development of the modern economy of any state is impossible without scientific and technological progress. Modernization of all spheres of production and introduction of innovation requires highly qualified engineering personnel; this makes the issue of their search, education, and, therefore, development of child and youth scientific and technological creativity relevant, as it is necessary to educate future engineers as soon as possible. The purpose of the research is to study the prospects for developing child and youth sci-tech creativity. To achieve this goal, the following objectives are set and addressed: consider modern approaches to the concept of sci-tech creativity, highlight the distinctive features of sci-tech creativity from other types of creativity, analyze the indicators of development of this area in supplementary education in Russia. Analysis of statistical data indicates that training in supplementary technical educational programs in Russia currently involves a little more than 1.5 million children (7% of the total number of trainees), which, amid the relevance of developing the need to increase youth involvement in scientific and technical creativity, is absolutely insufficient. The article reviews the possible prospects for developing sci-tech creativity through integration of educational programs of different profile, mutually beneficial cooperation of institutions of supplementary education and business community, creation of child technology parks and modern laboratories, popularization of science and technology. There is the need to modernize the current educational policy, providing favorable conditions for accumulating active, technically literate and creative youth capable of new achievements and discoveries
